On the Nightstand: Forgive Me

We’ve been keeping an eye on Austin-based author Amanda Eyre Ward since her debut with 2003’s Sleep Toward Heaven, “a novel that reads like lightning, but has the lasting roll of thunder,” according to January Magazine contributing editor David Abrams in a 2003 review.

Ward’s third novel, Forgive Me, was published to strong reviews in 2007. “Ward writes novels that are intellectually, emotionally and morally satisfying,” The Charlotte Observer said at the time, while The Denver Post accused the book of being “Compulsively readable.”

We’re not ready to judge the accuracy of those accusations… yet. But Ballentine made the paperback available on January 29th and the book made a bee-line to my nightstand. Forgive me for being unable to resist the package.
