Saying Good-bye to the Dragon Year

We will not soon forget the year that took so many literary greats. In 2012, we lost Ray Bradbury, Gore Vidal, Maurice Sendak and Carlos Fuentes.

August seemed a particularly cruel month last year. August alone took science fiction great Harry Harrison, iconic author and editor Helen Gurley Brown, Australian-born art critic, historian and TV documentary maker Robert Hughes, and the prolific and memorable Vidal.

You can see the passages January Magazine covered in 2012 here. Meanwhile our sister publication, The Rap Sheet, does a complete run down of the year’s sad losses here.
