Holiday Gift Guide: The Christmas Wedding by James Patterson and Richard DiLallo

If you love sappy Christmas stories and/or later life romances, you probably don’t even need us to tell you about The Christmas Wedding (Little, Brown) by fiction factory James Patterson. You’re probably already there.

Widowed Gabby wants her family together for Christmas, so plans a wedding for herself and her bridegroom. The hitch to their getting hitched? She’s keeping his identity a secret in the hopes that her four children will make the effort to share in mom’s special day.

Like all of Patterson’s later efforts (and co-efforts, as this one is) The Christmas Wedding is ultra light reading and there’s barely enough story to keep things moving. Fans of this sort of fiction can shed a happy tear or two if they’re in the mood for such things. And the cover is pretty and seasonal: if the person on your list likes such things, you know the drill.
